According to Orban, in Europe, anyone who has an opinion different from the generally accepted one risks losing their job.
< strong>Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said the state of freedom of speech in Europe is “pathetic,” unlike in Hungary, where “personal opinions are not punished.”
Orban stated this on the radio, he was quoted by the Hungarian independent publication Telex.
Orban went on air on a state radio station for the first time since the “pedophile scandal”, which he tries to avoid talking about even with government-controlled media.
“Freedom of speech is in a deplorable state in Europe,” Orbán said, adding that politicians, universities and the media have become “monochromatic.”
He said that when local authorities in Brussels closed down a “conservative conference”, “hotels and catering establishments were openly threatened.”
In addition, according to Orban, in Europe, anyone who has an opinion different from the generally accepted one risks losing their job.
“This may seem like an exaggeration to listeners, but in the West you can't just post something on Facebook. If your opinion differs from the mainstream, you risk losing your job. The most serious part of what happened in Brussels was the open threats made to the catering company that served the conference,” Orban said.
Orbán said that in Hungary people are not punished for having different opinions. He also accused Brussels of acting according to the “Soros plan,” which details the “destruction of Europe.”
Recall that it was previously reported that Orban called the European Union “imperial occupiers” and Western countries “a source of incivility and destruction” .
In addition, we previously informed that Hungary sent a letter to the EU countries with complaints about Ukraine.
