How the EU reacted

Representatives of the European Union (EU) continue to take measures to demonstrate the EU's non-alignment with the political position of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban regarding war in Ukraine.

In particular, EU Commission spokesman Eric Mamer said on July 15 that due to Orban's recent actions, EU leaders, including European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, will not participate in informal meetings led by Hungary.
