Sullivan explained that the current situation is already affecting the US's ability to give Ukraine everything it needs.
The US Congress has still not approved a large-scale military package for Ukraine, which is why America's capabilities are decreasing every week.
US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan stated this during a press briefing in Washington.
He noted that Congress should accept Joe Biden's request to allocate funds to Israel and Ukraine sooner, because, as he explained, this affects US national interests.
“We described in detail everything that we need, in particular for Ukraine, and we still need it, we need it as soon as possible,” Sullivan emphasized and added that this situation “ affects our ability to give Ukraine everything that she needs … And this effect will only intensify over time.”
He stressed that the government is actively working with Republicans and Democrats in both houses of the US Congress to ensure that they approve military aid packages.
“I personally speak on the phone every day with legislators, both Democrats and Republicans, to make the case,” Sullivan said.
Let us remind you that on November 12 it was reported that the US Congress presented a project without assistance to Ukraine and Israel.
