Cellular operators in Russia will cover more than 80 percent of federal highways and all settlements with more than a thousand people with 4G networks. This was announced on Thursday, August 5, by the head of the Russian Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media Maksut Shadayev during a meeting with President Vladimir Putin.
The minister reported to the head of state that at present, the share of LTE base stations on the networks of mobile operators exceeds 50 percent.
– Operators in 2024 will complete the creation of 4G networks in all settlements of our state with a population of more than one thousand people. The number of high-speed mobile Internet users in Russia will exceed 100 million in three years, Maksut Shadayev said.
As the website Kp.ru wrote, on the eve of the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia Vasily Shpaka said that Russian specialists are now working out options for scientific cooperation and cooperation to develop solutions for the sixth generation of 6G communication.
