The Internet edition “Open Media” announced the termination of work after being blocked by Roskomnadzor. The decision was made together with the investor of the project, despite the fact that the publication did not receive confirmation of the blocking from the RKN and the General Prosecutor's Office.
“The Open Media project announces the termination of work on August 5, 2021 … we decided to stop work, because the risks for the project staff are too great,” the publication's Telegram channel said.
As stated by Open Media, the journalists of the project have never worked with undesirable structures.
As the website kp.ru wrote, on Wednesday, August 5, Mikhail Khodorkovsky's projects “Open Media” and “MBH Media” announced the blocking of websites in Russia. They reported that the RKN entered the publications into the “register of domain names, indexes of pages of sites on the Internet” and network addresses, allowing the identification of sites on the activities carried out in violation of the established order. “
