Service for artists DeviantArt has removed most (44 out of 48) materials prohibited in Russia from its website. This was reported by the Izvestia newspaper with reference to a representative of Roskomnadzor. Previously, these materials served as a pretext for blocking the resource in the country.
“At the moment (08/09/2021), the resource administrators have removed 44 of the 48 prohibited materials specified in the Roskomnadzor requirement on their own. The department monitors the removal and positively evaluates the work carried out by the site administration. After the removal of the entire array of illegal content specified in the requirement of Roskomnadzor, access to the resource can be restored, ”the department said. DeviantArt itself did not respond to the request.
The DeviantArt service site for artists was unavailable in Russia on 3 August. The resource was included by Roskomnadzor in the register of sites that distribute information prohibited in the Russian Federation. Roskomnadzor sent a request to remove illegal materials to the DeviantArt administration on July 29.
