Public mention of the marriage appeared on the website of The Giving Pledge, launched by billionaires Warren Buffett and Bill Gates, in which the world's richest people vow to donate most of their fortune to charity.
According to the newly made spouse, he felt not quite at ease:
– It is strange to write a letter that says that I plan to give away most of my fortune during my life, since I have never sought to collect such wealth.
During his divorce from Bezos, his ex-wife received a quarter of Amazon's shares, which were valued at $ 36 billion in 2019. In 2020, Mackenzie Scott's fortune was already $ 53 billion, but she managed to distribute four of them within a year.
