More than 300 employees are laid off at the Barnaul Cartridge Plant. This is one of the largest Russian manufacturers of ammunition for military and hunting weapons.
According to local media, citing the company itself, the reason for this sanction.
“Barnaul Cartridge Plant” produces more than 160 types of sports, hunting and combat cartridges for small arms of the main calibers of domestic and foreign production.
In 2020, it was reported that the state defense order of the Russian Federation is about 7% of all production of the enterprise.
Recall, earlier it was reported that due to the lack of necessary parts that are not manufactured in Russia, after the imposition of sanctions in the Russian Federation the production of military products is stopped. The introduction by Western countries of sanctions against the Russian Federation had a negative impact on the fulfillment of the state order by military-industrial complex enterprises. In particular, the production of military products has been suspended at the Ulyanovsk Mechanical Plant.
At the same time, Russia is trying to find ways to circumvent sanctions and obtain components necessary for the production of weapons. Thus, the Kremlin receives ammunition and military equipment from Iraq for its war crimes in Ukraine through Iranian arms smuggling networks.
