The FBI has been unable to catch a man accused of double murder for 16 years.

In Mexico, Octaviano Juarez-Corro, a criminal from the list of the FBI’s “ten most wanted fugitives”, who had been hiding for 16 years, was arrested.

This was reported on Friday, February 4, on the website of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

It is noted that the American and Mexican special services detained Juarez-Corro on the evening of February 3 in Zapopan, Jalisco state.

“Octaviano Juarez-Corro has spent the last 16 years running away from law enforcement, hiding in another country and believing that time and distance are on his side,” said Special Agent Michael Hansl from the FBI field office in Milwaukee, in the US state of Wisconsin.

He expressed gratitude to all those involved in “detaining the wanted fugitive and helping to bring this cruel criminal to justice, as well as in closing the case for his victims and their families.”

Octaviano Juarez-Corro was added to the FBI’s list of the ten most famous fugitives on September 8, 2021. The man is accused of double murder and several attempts on life.

According to law enforcement, in May 2006, an attacker shot two people and wounded three others during a Memorial Day picnic in a Milwaukee city park, where hundreds of people, including families with children, were staying.

The FBI indicates that Juarez-Corro approached his ex-wife’s friend for a conversation, but soon pulled out a gun and opened fire, killing two people and wounding three others, including his ex-wife. The woman received two gunshot wounds to the chest, but survived.

It is known that the detainee and his wife are in the final stages of divorce. The couple has a daughter who was three years old at the time of the tragedy.
