It is expected that the equipment will strengthen the capabilities of the Ukrainian Armed Forces units in the most difficult sections of the front.

As part of a new aid package to the Ukrainian army, Latvia has donated modern Patria 6×6 armored personnel carriers – multi-purpose armored vehicles that have already proven their effectiveness in combat conditions.

The press service of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported this.

Ukrainian Ambassador Valeriy Churkin thanked the Latvian government for the transfer of modern Patria 6×6 armored vehicles to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. These armored personnel carriers have been mass-produced since 2021 as part of a joint program between Finland, Estonia and Latvia.

“Thank you to the people and government of Latvia for their comprehensive and unwavering support, the new package of military aid. Latvia's consistent and clear position in supporting our struggle is very valuable and important for Ukraine,” he said.

In addition to the Patria 6×6 armored personnel carriers, Latvia has provided Ukraine with a significant amount of weapons and equipment. Details are not disclosed, but according to the Defense Ministry, all the equipment will strengthen the Ukrainian army. Meetings with defense manufacturers from partner countries were also held in Riga to discuss further strengthening military-technical cooperation.

Let us recall that earlier we wrote that the Netherlands will transfer more than 100 naval vessels to Ukraine
