The type of weapons that they plan to provide to Ukraine is unknown.

Belgium< /strong> will provide Ukraine with €200 million for a German-led air defense initiative and will also supply missiles.

This was announced by Belgian Defense Minister Ludivine Dedonder, RTBF TV channel reports.

She stressed that Ukraine is experiencing a shortage of air defense systems amid an increase in Russian attacks. In particular, on energy infrastructure. That is why Brussels will provide Ukraine with additional missiles from its own military reserves for air defense systems. Dedonder did not specify the number and type of weapons that will be sent to Kyiv.

“Our message is always the same: the day Russia stops its invasion and cedes its illegally occupied territories, the conflict will end. We will never stop to repeat our demand for a cessation of hostilities and a return to political diplomatic dialogue,” Dedonder emphasized.

As reported, Belgium announced the transfer of F-16 aircraft to Ukraine already in 2024, but did not give exact dates. Brussels notes that the country's defense capability will in no way be affected by the transfer of fighter jets to Ukraine.
