The Guinness Book of Records has announced the death of the world's tallest dog. Great Dane named Freddie was the record holder among dogs for height. Its height at the withers reached 103.5 centimeters.

Standing on his hind legs, Freddie could have scared at all with its impressive size – more than 2.2 meters high, he could easily pass for such a Baskervilles dog that Sherlock Holmes never dreamed of.

Freddie lived only 8.5 years, and for his owner Claire Stoneman, the death of the pet was a huge loss.

“He was my life. My one in a million. He was the smallest puppy in the litter and I got it two weeks earlier than expected, as he could not feed on his mother's milk. I have no idea how he got so big, ”says Claire.

Despite the frightening size, Freddie was a good-natured dog who was glad to everyone who came to visit. In 2016, the Great Dane became world famous and a social media star when he was measured for the Guinness Book of Records.
