One EU country has significantly increased payments for Ukrainian refugees

The Czech authorities have increased payments for refugees from Ukraine. Therefore, one of the categories will receive 1,600 crowns more (63 euros), others – 1,000 – 1,200 crowns (up to 47 euros).

In addition, from September 1, Ukrainians will be provided with free housing in the Czech Republic for only 90 days – the service is available to those who have received temporary protection. The new rule also applies to vulnerable categories of the population.

“For the first 90 days, Ukrainians can live in a room or apartment provided by the state. However, they will subsequently have to move to a new rented premises or agree on payment. Against this background, the Czech authorities have decided to increase payments to refugees so that they can pay for the premises”, the report says.

At the same time, the ombudsman and charitable organizations working with refugees note that even the increased payments are not enough. C

“For this money, people will not be able to rent housing, for example, in Prague, Brno or Ostrava, where it is most realistic to find work,” — the message says.

Note that two years after the start of Russia's full-scale invasion, more and more Ukrainian refugees are planning to stay abroad to live forever.
