On the morning of December 7, there was a large-scale accident in the Chernigov region. Not far from the village of Brusilov (highway N-27 Chernigov-Gremyach) a minibus and a truck collided. According to official data, 11 people died at the scene of the accident, two more died in the hospital. Given the severity of the injuries, the number of casualties could rise.

Causes of an accident near Chernihiv
At about 15:00, Minister of Internal Affairs Denis Monastyrskiy published a video message in which he spoke about the circumstances of the resonant accident near Brusilov.
According to him, the cause of the accident was a violation of traffic rules. It was preliminary established that a DAF truck driver drove into the oncoming lane, where he collided with a Mercedes Sprinter passenger minibus.
Earlier, the head of the Chernihiv region prosecutor's office Sergei Vasilina said that the likely factor that could lead to an accident is weather conditions . What is known about the condition of the victims
As of the evening of December 7 there are seven victims in hospitals in the city. Five of them & # 8212; at the Chernihiv City Hospital # 2: we are talking about three women and two men who urgently need surgery.
It is noted that the minibus driver died on the spot, but the truck driver survived.
The first victims were delivered to city hospitals at 10.00 am. The bodies of the dead are taken to the city morgue: one of the dead passengers remains unidentified.

The Mayor of Chernigov Vladislav Atroshenko expressed his condolences to the families of those killed and injured in the accident.
He also confirmed that within a few hours after the accident, one woman died in the emergency department of the ChML No. 2, and another victim with serious injuries died on the operating table.
According to the decision of the Regional State Administration, December 8 in the Chernihiv region declared a day of mourning for those killed in an accident near Brusilov. In all settlements of the region, state flags will be lowered at state buildings and enterprises, and all entertainment events will be canceled.
