In France, work began on the cleaning and restoration of the great organ of Notre Dame Cathedral, which was saved from the fire. It is reported by the radio station Europe 1.
First, the instrument is completely dismantled and then cleaned. In the body, eight thousand pipes and 115 registers during a fire it was covered with lead dust, and some parts got wet. Symphonic organ called the voice of Notre Dame.
Disassembly of the tool will take about five months. Then the items will be placed in waterproof containers. It is still unknown who will be engaged in cleaning and restoration: the French government announced a tender. Work must be completed by April 2024. The instrument also asked to return to a working state.
Notre Dame Cathedral lit up in the evening on 15 April 2019. The fire destroyed a large part of the roof and spire. The fire was extinguished only the next morning. In the result of incident three persons suffered. The President of France Emmanuel macron promised to restore the Cathedral.
