The Russian Defense Ministry has received new RHM-8 radiation, chemical and biological (RCB) reconnaissance vehicles based on the Tiger vehicle and the PXM-9 based on the Typhoon-K vehicle.
– RKhM-8 and RKhM-9 vehicles successfully passed state tests in 2020-2021. All specified characteristics are fully confirmed. The RXM-8 vehicle was accepted for supply to the Russian Armed Forces. RHM-9 is planned to be accepted for supply to the RF Armed Forces by the end of this year, '' Colonel Sergei Tyryshkin, chairman of the military-scientific committee of the RHB protection troops, told the KP.ru website.
Sergei Nikolayevich noted that absolutely new devices for collecting samples of soil, water, air have been developed for the vehicles presented, which have increased the speed of conducting NBC reconnaissance and transmitting data in real time to the command and control system.
In addition, the machines ensure high security of the calculation.
The RXM-9 machine can even collect information remotely. Its package includes a complex of aerial radiation reconnaissance of the terrain based on a drone-type UAV.
– This allows you to conduct reconnaissance of the area without the presence of personnel in dangerous areas. An unmanned aerial vehicle, if necessary, can be used to solve other tasks in the interests of the troops when performing NBC protection measures, '' Tyryshkin explained to KP.ru.
It is important to note that modern RCB reconnaissance vehicles can be used to solve specific tasks, both in war and peacetime.
