For the period of the New Year holidays, Russia has strengthened the forward positions of its occupation forces in Donbass and increased the number of sniper pairs.
This was reported in the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
According to the report, the Russian command continues to keep the formations and units of the occupying forces on alert.
In particular, during the New Year holidays, the forward positions of the so-called 1st and 2nd army corps based in the occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
– In addition, the occupiers deployed additional elements of the reconnaissance system along the line of collision, the number of sniper pairs has been increased, – noted in the GUR.
According to Ukrainian intelligence, training in artillery fire control under the leadership of Russian officers is also taking place in the Donbas. During these trainings, the invaders clarify targets for defeat at the positions of Ukrainian units.
At the end of December, the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense reported that within a month Russia continued to strengthen the occupation forces in Donbass, imported weapons, military equipment, and also significantly increased the supply of armored combat vehicles.

In December, the invaders also mined areas close to the collision line in Donbass.
