Mexico has confirmed the fact of the first infection with the Omicron coronavirus infection in the country.
This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Health of the country, Hugo Lopez-Gatel, – informs “Interfax-Ukraine”.
The first case of infection with the omicron strain was detected in a 51-year-old who arrived from South Africa. The patient has a mild form of the disease, and the chances of recovery are high.
A patient who arrived from South Africa, six days later, felt the symptoms of coronavirus infection. He was treated at a private clinic in Mexico City and now adheres to a voluntary preventive isolation regimen.
Earlier, the fact of infection with a strain of coronavirus infection, called “Omicron”, was registered, in addition to southern Africa, in the United States, a number of European countries, India, Sri Lanka, Israel, Malaysia.
As you know, the new strain of coronavirus “Omicron” is already in Europe , the Ministry of Health also predicts that Ukraine will get it in a few weeks. Ukrainians who were in countries where Omicron was found will be obliged to self-isolate upon their return to the country.
