In the race, the 35-year-old athlete was stronger than the Italian Roland Fischnaller. The winner was the Austrian Benjamin Karl. Tim Mastnjak from Slovenia took the second place.
In 2019, Wild could not get access to the competition by the decision of the Federal Medical and Biological Agency of Russia. He did not receive a salary and could not get to the training camp. Because of the situation, the snowboarder was thinking about returning to the USA.
Wilde held American citizenship until 2012, when he received a Russian passport. As part of the Russian national team, the snowboarder won two gold medals at the 2014 Olympics.
