Olympic champion in pair skating Eric Radford appreciated the performance of Russian singles at the Russian Figure Skating Championship. His words are available on Twitter.
The Canadian described the athletes in six words. “Russian women's figure skating is amazing, sublime, extraordinary, incredible, inspiring, beautiful,” he said.
Radford competed in pair skating with Megan Duhamel. They became Olympic champions in team competition in 2018. They also have two gold medals at the world championships (2013, 2015) and bronze in the individual championship at the 2018 Olympics. In 2021, the skater began performing with Vannesa James, who previously represented France.
At the Russian Championship that ended on December 25 in St. Petersburg, 15-year-old Kamila Valieva won the victory. Also, the top three winners included Alexandra Trusova and Anna Shcherbakova.
