Two-time Olympic champion Alexander Kozhevnikov approved the departure of the President of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation (FHR) Vladislav Tretyak from the council of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). His words are quoted by “Sport Weekend”.
Kozhevnikov called Tretyak's departure beneficial for the position of Russian sports in the world. “The functionary Vladislav Aleksandrovich is not the strongest. We are always losing with him when it comes to protecting our interests in the international arena, ”he considered, adding that the candidacy of Pavel Bure for this position seems to him most preferable.
