Brazilian Charles Oliveira won American Dustin Poirier , who is number one in the ranking of the best lightweight fighters. The fight took place in Las Vegas (Nevada, USA) at the T-Mobile arena.
The fighters went forward from the first seconds, hitting each other several times. Poirier hit more often and the blows seemed harder. Oliveira tried to rectify the situation, but found himself pinned to the net.
Dustin practiced classic boxing powers and knocked down the champion in the fourth minute. Charles managed to survive and even launched a counterattack.
In the second five minutes, Oliveira quickly transferred the challenger to the ground, after which Poirier had to defend himself. Charles landed some good elbow punches. Dustin defended well and the Brazilian failed to come close to giving a painful or choking hold.
However, in the third round, Poirier's defense failed. In a stance, Oliveira jumped onto Poirier's back and gradually squeezed – the choke hold was very good.
