Experts from the Digital Foundry studio conducted a test with the help of which they found out the difference in the speed of games on the PlayStation 5 when working from internal and external drives.
When plugging in an external SSD while playing backward compatible games for the PlayStation 4, the difference in speed became apparent. For the test, we used a Samsung 980 Pro SSD. Internal storage results were smaller.
This picture has developed, most likely due to the fact that external SSD models plugged into the M.2 slot have already appeared on the market, which are faster than a standard drive soldered inside the PS5.
