According to law enforcement officials, the holes in the glass correspond to caliber about five millimeters. The German State Security Service took over the investigation of the incident.

According to the results of the investigation, the damage could have been caused by a gas pistol. However, not a single bullet has yet been found, said police spokesman Carsten Jäger.

The leader of the SPD in Saxony, Henning Homann, said that a political motive for such a crime could not be ruled out. This prompted party members to consider introducing additional security measures.

By the way, in early May in Dresden, members of the right-wing extremist group Erblandrevolte attacked a politician from SPD Matthias Ecke, who put up propaganda posters dedicated to the elections to the European Parliament.

Ecke was hospitalized with a fractured eye socket and cheekbone, and the attackers had already awaiting trial in pre-trial detention center.
