Weak games, poor placement! After mixed performances, Austria slipped out of the top 30 in the FIFA world rankings.

That comes as little surprise in view of the weak World Cup qualification. Austria is only fourth in Group F, behind Denmark, Scotland and Israel. Before the 0: 1 against the Danes there was a lackluster 2: 0 against the Faroe Islands, but before that it was a 0: 1 and a 2: 2 against Scotland, a 2: 5 against Israel and a 0: 4 in the first qualification. Duel with Denmark.

This is noticeable in the current FIFA world rankings. Austria loses three places and is now only 32nd. Scotland climbed to 42nd, Israel remained 80th, group leader Denmark was best placed in tenth place.

From the top of the world rankings, Belgium again laughs ahead of Brazil. France improved from fourth to third, Italy is a new fourth. England slipped from third to fifth. Germany made up two places and is currently twelfth, just behind arch rivals Netherlands.
