Christoph Baumgartner is out of the last two games of the season due to injury. The 21-year-old midfielder at TSG Hoffenheim sustained an injury in his right ankle during training. The Austrian international remains confident that he will be able to take part in the European Championship.
TSG Hoffenheim has committed offensive player Christoph Baumgartner (21) to itself for the long term.
“It's really bitter that Baumi is out again so shortly before the end of the season. He was an absolutely reliable player in the team this season,” says Alexander Rosen, Director of Professional Football. Although Baumgartner now has to cut back on sport, “we have decided together that he and the team will stay in the quarantine hotel in order to be able to give him the best possible support during the treatment.”

Baumgartner is combative. “My goal remains to participate in the European Championship. I will give everything to play for Austria there,” said the eight-time national player.
Baumgartner played 41 competitive games for TSG in the championship, cup and Europa League this season. He scored nine goals and gave seven assists. In March, he prematurely extended his contract in Hoffenheim until June 30, 2025.
