Deniz Pehlivan has made the jump from the U19 to the U23 with the German Bundesliga club FSV Mainz 05. The 19-year-old ÖFB junior team player will be promoted like five colleagues at the start of preparation for the coming season. The striker has been with Mainz since January 2020, having previously enjoyed his football training at Rapid.
“The takeover of six players from the U19s into the U23s is a further sign of the high level of permeability at Mainz 05 and, above all, of the high-quality work that is done in all areas of the NLZ,” said Volker Kersting, head of the youth performance center.
