Red Bull Salzburg won the ÖFB Cup for the third time in a row. Thanks to the goals of Mergim Berisha (45th), Brenden Aaaronson (66th) and Enock Mwepu (88th), the Mozartstadt team beat LASK 3-0 in the final. The result affects Austria's European Cup starting places.

With the victory of Salzburg in the cup final, one thing is almost certain: The third place in the Bundesliga will play in the Europa League playoff next season. Four games remain to be played, Salzburg should end up among the best two teams due to the lead over Rapid Wien (six points) and Sturm Graz (twelve points). This in turn means that in the worst case scenario – elimination in the EL playoff – the third party starts in the group phase of the newly created Conference League.
The fourth place in the Bundesliga will compete in the 3rd qualifying round for the Conference League. For second place in the new ECL, the fifth in the master group will ultimately fight with the winner from the duel between seventh and eighth of the qualifying round. The sixth of the table is empty.
The champions have a fixed place in the Champions League. The runner-up can look forward to the CL qualification.
