Obama accused Trump of inciting violence

by alex

Former US President Barack Obama has accused incumbent American leader Donald Trump of inciting violence. He stated this in his Twitter account.

“History will rightly remember today's violence in the Capitol, fueled by the incumbent, who continued to lie groundlessly about the outcome of a legitimate election, as a moment of great dishonor and shame for our entire country,” Obama wrote.

The politician believes that the Republican Party for the last two months did not want to tell its supporters the truth about the elections, and this led to such consequences.

Protesters broke into the Capitol Building and surrounded the Senate Hall on January 6. The Senate and House of Representatives have suspended the meeting, which was planned to approve the results of the electoral college vote. According to these results, Democrat Joe Biden won the presidential election. Trump himself has called on supporters to act peacefully and support the police. The Capitol Building in Washington was later cleared of protesters.
