Nutritionist spoke about a way to lower cholesterol levels without drugs
Nutritionist Dürdane Keskiner spoke about how you can reduce cholesterol levels without medication, writes Sözcü .
The expert said that there are two types of cholesterol – “good” (HDL) and “bad” (LDL), and their level in the body must be balanced. To lower LDL levels, Keskiner recommends regular exercise and proper nutrition.
According to her, in food, you should give preference to unsaturated fats and generally reduce their intake. You should also avoid hard fats such as margarine and lard. It is also helpful to avoid fatty meats, sausages, and fast food and opt for low-fat dairy products.
The specialist advises to regularly eat oat bran, nuts and fish, apples, garlic and onions are also useful. Apples, pears, olive oil and herbal teas will help reduce the level of “bad” cholesterol, the expert emphasized.
