Russian mixed style (MMA) fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov reacted to the death of former Argentine national team player Diego Maradona. He posted the corresponding post on his Instagram page.
“One of the greatest athletes of all time. Because of Maradona, millions of people love football, ”wrote Nurmagomedov.
Earlier, the death of Maradona commented on the Portuguese striker Juventus Turin Cristiano Ronaldo and three-time world champion in the Brazilian national team Pele. Maradona's rival in the quarterfinals of the 1986 World Cup Gary Lineker also dedicated the post to the death of the Argentine, but his words were understood ambiguously.
The death of 60-year-old Maradona became known earlier on November 25. The information was confirmed by his lawyer, and the first to report the incident were the journalists of the Argentinean Clarin. In November, Maradona was hospitalized with a cerebral hemorrhage and was later discharged. Death was due to a heart attack.
