2.5 billion tyrannosaurs have lived on Earth throughout history

Scientists at the University of California, Berkeley have calculated how many tyrannosaurs have lived on Earth. It turned out that 127 thousand generations of these dinosaurs have changed on the planet.

The researchers say that tyrannosaurs have existed in North America for 1.2 to 3.6 million years. At the same time, there have always been few individuals in the generations of dinosaurs – about two in an area the size of the city of Washington.

Despite the fact that paleontologists were able to find only about a hundred tyrannosaur fossils, there were about 2.5 billion of them on Earth. At least, scientists called this value the most probable. True, the general run-up of values among the researchers turned out to be like this: from 140 million to 42 billion.
