The Ukrainian diplomat believes that such a step would be suicidal for the Russian Federation.
There is a theoretical possibility that Russian President Vladimir Putin will give the order to use nuclear weapons in a war against Ukraine, but this will end the existence of the Russian state.
This opinion was expressed by the former Minister of Foreign Affairs affairs, diplomat Vladimir Ohryzko on the air of the Espreso TV channel.
“Their threats about nuclear weapons no longer work… This is already clear to everyone. First, they sent the head of the CIA Burns to Russia in 2022 and explained that this cannot be done. Now they can call the Kremlin at a higher level and also explain what this could lead to. Obviously, such a step would be suicidal for the Russian Federation,” he emphasized.
According to Vladimir Ohryzko, if permission to use Western long-range weapons on Russian territory pushes Putin to press the nuclear button, then the crazy dictator will be kept from doing so by his Kremlin entourage.
“I don't think that Putin's entourage in the Kremlin is so idiotic that they don't understand where this is all heading. Therefore, in my opinion, after Ukraine is allowed to strike Western weapons at the territory of the Russian Federation and our army begins to methodically destroy everything located within a distance of 300 km, the Kremlin will quickly find other arguments to end this war as soon as possible,” the diplomat explained.
Recall that CIA Director William Burns called on the West to stop being scared every time Russia begins to “rattle” nuclear weapons.
