In order to prevent a strong rise in gasoline prices, the Russian authorities have developed a set of measures. This was announced by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak in a conversation with RBC.
According to him, the prices are influenced by the growth of costs and excise taxes. To level these factors, proposals were developed to adjust the fuel damper. They were supported by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, Novak said.
The Deputy Prime Minister noted that in 2021 the indicative price was reduced by 1,800 rubles and it was planned that it would recover by this amount from January 1, 2022. However, this could affect retail prices, so it was decided to abandon this restoration, Novak stressed. The level of compensation for the difference between the export price and the indicative price for gasoline will also be increased from 68 percent to 83 percent.
In addition, a proposal is being discussed to increase the standard for gasoline sales on the stock exchange from 11 percent to 12 percent.
Earlier, Novak said that in 2022 the oil price of $ 65-80 per barrel would be comfortable for Russia. He explained that he deliberately took a large range, since volatility is not excluded in the market.
