The President denied information about more than 177 billion dollars.
The United States provided Ukraine with financial support in the amount of 70 billion dollars.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky spoke about this in an interview with Associated Press.
“Today we hear from the United States that America gave Ukraine hundreds of billions, namely 177 billion dollars, to be more precise. As the president of a country at war, I tell you: we received more than 75. That is, 100 billion of these 177 we never received. And this is important,” he said.
Zelensky also specified what kind of American aid it was.
We are talking about specific things. We received it not in money, but in weapons. We received weapons worth 70 billion plus. There is training, training, there is additional transport, humanitarian and social programs, etc. But when they say that Ukraine received 200 billion to support the army during the war, it is not true,” Zelensky said.
At the same time, the president emphasized that the assistance from the United States is really great.
“I don't know where all this money is. Maybe it is true on paper. Maybe we do not argue and are grateful for everything. But as president, I record that we received more than 70 billion. It's a lot of help, but it's not 200,” he added.
Recall that scientist Elaine McCusker wrote that many Americans are concerned that the US is spending too much money on aid to Ukraine.
