The head of the Norwegian government announced the need for stronger air defense in Ukraine to protect against Russian bombs and missiles.

Norway will donate 1 billion crowns ($92.69 million) in support of Ukraine's air defense.

This was announced by Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre at the NATO summit in Washington on Thursday, July 11, reports Reuters.

“Ukrainians need more air defense to protect their population from Russian bombs and missiles,” he said.

These funds will be allocated as part of Nansen Program – a five-year program to support Ukraine, the total amount of which is 75 billion kronor ($7.1 billion).

This statement by the head of the Norwegian government followed the announcement of the transfer of 6 F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine to help it defend against Russian air attacks.

Recall , earlier the leaders of the USA, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy and Romania announced that they would transfer to Ukraine an additional five Patriot and SAMP-T strategic air defense systems.
