North Macedonia star Pandev optimistic before the European Championship duel with the ÖFB team
North Macedonia's national team captain Goran Pandev was very optimistic about the European Championship game on Sunday (6:00 p.m. CEST / live ORF 1) in Bucharest against Austria. “We'll give everything and leave our hearts on the pitch. We're here to win,” said the 37-year-old at the closing press conference on Saturday.
Pandev expects a “big game with lots of emotions against the ÖFB selection. All North Macedonians can hardly wait for this game to finally start. We are well prepared and we know what we can deliver. We are all in shape and ready.”
The two defeats in the European Championship qualification against the ÖFB team have no relevance, according to Pandev. “Our experience so far has been rather negative, but on Sunday it will be a different game than the previous one against Austria.”
The North Macedonian team boss Igor Angelovski was also very excited. “We play here as a big family and we will bring all our skills to the field. We will fight for every inch of turf,” said the coach.
