Up to 10,000 North Korean soldiers undergo military training in eastern Russia.
North Korean troops transferred to Russia are training key military commands in Russian, and after that, “including high-ranking military personnel,” they will be transferred to the front line.
CNN reports this, citing new data from South Korean intelligence.
According to South Korean legislators Lee Song Kwynw and Park Sun On, Russia is currently training North Korean soldiers in about 100 basic military words and commands. In particular, such commands include “fire” and “to position.”
“However, it is obvious that North Korean soldiers have problems with communication. It is unclear whether they will be able to overcome the language barrier,” CNN reports, citing data from Seoul.
According to Washington's latest estimates, the authors of the publication write, up to ten thousand soldiers from the DPRK are undergoing military training in eastern Russia. Pyongyang has one of the world's largest armies (1.2 million soldiers). However, most of its troops lack combat experience. The participation of the DPRK military in the war against Ukraine on the side of the Russian Federation “could be North Korea's first significant intervention in an international conflict,” CNN says.
Recall that the Pentagon reported that North Korea sent about 10,000 troops to Russia for exercises and participation in the war in Ukraine. They could join the fighting within the next few weeks.
