North Korea is likely preparing to blow up roads to the South Korean border on October 14 Korea.
Yonhap reported this, citing a statement by the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the South Korean Armed Forces.
According to the Joint Chiefs of Staff, following the statement by the Korean People's Army on October 9, the North Korean military is carrying out actions that may be related to the explosions on roads along the Gyeonggi and Donghae lines.
“It is likely that (explosions in North Korea – ed.) will take place as early as today (October 14, ed.),” said Joint Chiefs of Staff spokesman Ri Sung-joon.
He added that the military is fully prepared for possible provocations.
Note that on October 9, North Korean troops promised to block all roads and railways to South Korea in order to “turn the border into a fortress.”
Recall that on October 13, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un ordered artillery units in the demilitarized zone on the border with South Korea to be put on full combat alert.
