Ivan Tymochko noted that the technological support of allies can reduce the problems arising from the human potential of North Korea and Russia. He warned that the DPRK can act as a proxy for China, provoking the West in the conflict with South Korea, which will affect the support of Ukraine from Japan, South Korea and the United States. Tymochko emphasized the importance of the reaction of Western allies to this situation.
The Chairman of the Council of Reservists of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine noted that Putin counted on Iran to supply “shaheeds” and missiles, but due to the war with Israel, this became problematic. He warned that North Korea, having a common border with Russia, can overthrow troops, which creates a serious threat. Although the size of the DPRK will not affect the fighting, the lack of preventive measures could lead to serious problems for Ukraine.
In his opinion, North Korea could become the third country to join the war on Russia's side, along with Belarus and Russia. He noted that many Belarusian soldiers who participated in the invasion changed their chevrons to Russian ones and continued to serve in the Russian armed forces.
Recall that Russia is preparing several thousand soldiers from North Korea to participate in the war against Ukraine. Analyst Vitaly Portnikov believes that this indicates that the Kremlin has serious problems with reserves. Mercenaries from the DPRK may play the role previously played by the “Wagnerites”.
