After sexually assaulting an elderly woman, a 23-year-old man committed a series of thefts and ended up in the hands of the police.
Austrian police have identified the man who raped a 92-year-old woman in a nursing home in Vienna. According to DNA analysis, we are talking about a 23-year-old man from Algeria, who is currently in custody for property crimes.
This was reported on Wednesday, November 8, by the Austrian publication Kurier.
The criminal broke into the victim's apartment at about six o'clock in the evening, attacked the woman, pinned her to the bed and raped her. He then searched the room for valuables. Before running away, he tore off the pensioner’s jewelry and watch.
The wounded woman was discovered by a nurse who called an ambulance and the police. After this, an ambulance took the old woman to the hospital.
DNA analysis helped identify the attacker as a 23-year-old Algerian man who had previously sought asylum in Slovenia. After the crime, he was arrested in Upper Austria for theft from cars and was already in custody.
After searching the young man’s apartment in Linz, investigators found a number of stolen items, including jewelry that belonged to a pensioner.
Police said the man confessed to the attack in Vienna.
