Ukrainian Ambassador to Germany Andriy Melnyk said on December 21 that if the security situation on the Ukrainian-Russian state border worsened, flow-2 could put the FRG coalition in jeopardy.
– Since the positions of the parties within the coalition are different. As you know, Nord Stream 2 is not even part of the coalition agreement as such. He is not mentioned in a single word, the ambassador emphasized.
Melnik added that if the situation escalates, the Nord Stream 2 issue will come to the political plane.
“We are working on this so that he returns to the political plane again,” Andrei Melnik added.
Let us remind you that the Minister of Economy and Climate Protection of Germany said that he considers Nord Stream 2 a geopolitical mistake.
On October 18, it became known about the filling of the first string of Nord Stream-2 with technical gas.
After that, the US State Department announced that Nord Stream-2 would not work until March 2022 due to the process certification in Germany and the European Commission.
