As of Tuesday, December 21, none of the 12 thermal power plants (TPPs) in Ukraine have minimum coal reserves.

This is evidenced by the data published on the website of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.

According to the schedule of the Ministry of Energy, guaranteed (minimum) coal reserves are not met at Ukrainian TPPs .

< p>They should correspond to 10 or 20-day consumption volumes (according to the Procedure for the formation of the forecast balance of electric energy of the unified energy system of Ukraine).

Although, compared to last week's indicators, the actual coal reserves at TPPs have slightly increased. So, as of December 14, they amounted to 459.6 thousand tons, and now – 463.4 thousand tons.

During the week, the actual coal reserves increased the most at Uglegorskaya TPP (Centrenergo): from 7.8 thousand tons to 28.4 thousand tons.

In addition, coal reserves were replenished: Slavyanskaya (Donbassenergo), Tripolskaya (Centerenergo), Zaporizhzhya (DTEK) and Kurakhovskaya (DTEK) TPPs.

At the same time, the head of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine Herman Galushchenko assured today at a briefing that the situation in the energy sector is stable. According to him, coal reserves at TPPs in Ukraine during December increased by 15% (about 400 thousand tons have already been delivered to Ukraine).

– The situation in the energy sector is stable, and we clearly understand how to pass this heating season … During December, the coal storage increased by about 15%. And this is due to the fact that there is a systemic import by sea … As of today, 6 ships have already arrived in Ukraine – this is about 400 thousand tons of coal. And by the end of the year we expect another 4 ships to call with almost 300 thousand tons of coal, & # 8212; noted Galushchenko.

According to the calculations of the Ministry of Energy, in December the consumption of coal in Ukraine will amount to 1 million 800 thousand tons, and the receipt – more than 2 million tons (of which 1 million 550 thousand are own production).

Recently, Prime Minister Denis Shmygal also assured that Ukraine will have enough energy resources (gas and coal) to pass the heating season 2021-2022.
