Professor Adam Taylor of Lancaster University noted that plaque, which looks like sticky film, should be of concern. The scientist explained that the plaque actively develops “bad” bacteria, which can enter the bloodstream, cause inflammation of blood vessels and cause a heart attack.
Taylor warned that the sour taste in the mouth should also alert. In addition, jaw pain is dangerous, which many describe as severe toothache. The scientist added that it could also be a symptom of a heart attack.
In January 2020, scientists at Yale University in the United States concluded that one of the main causes of sudden heart attack is exposure to ultrafine particles, often found in polluted air. The researchers analyzed data on non-fatal cases of myocardial infarction in Augsburg, Germany, among 5,898 patients. At the same time, the time of heart attacks was compared with the values of air pollution, taking into account such additional factors as the day of the week and socioeconomic status. It turned out that in the first few hours of exposure to the body, particles can cause malfunctions in the heart.
