Nobel laureate in chemistry Paul Krutzen dies at death

Nobel laureate in chemistry Paul Krutzen has passed away. This is reported by the Max Planck Institute for Chemistry in Mainz, Germany, where he worked for 20 years.

The scientist died at the age of 87 after a long illness.

Paul Krutzen studied the impact of nitrogen oxides on the ozone layer of the Earth, as well as the impact of human activities on the environment. The researcher, along with colleagues, received the Nobel Prize for the discovery of the chemical processes that cause ozone holes. Crutzen has published over 360 scientific articles, 135 other scientific publications in specialized journals and 15 books.
