No special spectator regulations for the GP in Spielberg - Kogler

Sports Minister Werner Kogler (Greens)

Sports Minister Werner Kogler (Greens) emphasized in the “Kleine Zeitung” (Sunday edition) that there would be no special spectator regulation for the Formula 1 Grand Prix of Austria on July 4th in Spielberg. “We cannot pretend that the pandemic will be over in the summer,” said the Vice Chancellor. From Wednesday in a week, 3,000 spectators are allowed with the large-scale corona easing steps at outdoor events in Austria.

“When we open on May 19th, the number of infections will probably rise,” said the 59-year-old. “If that moves within a justifiable framework and enough people get vaccinated, so my prognosis could double the audience limit to 6,000 people in July. It could be the same in Spielberg.”
