While star consultant Pini Zahavi is looking for a new club for David Alaba, teammate Joshua Kimmich is taking a completely different path.
The 26-year-old “puller” in the Munich midfield is now sitting down at a table with the Bayern bosses to negotiate a contract extension.
In any case, Kimmich confirmed to “Bild” that it had parted with the consulting agency “fair-sport GmbH”. “This is a conscious decision that I made last year,” said the German team player.
“I have decided for myself that I want to stand up for my values and my views even more strongly and that I want to live up to my personal responsibility. I am also convinced that I can best represent my own positions in relation to others,” explained the 26-year-old further.
In any case, Bayern and Kimmich still have plenty of time for intensive contract negotiations. Kimmich's contract runs until 2023, but the Munich-based company has learned from the “Alaba case” and wants to extend it prematurely in the long term.
