In March 2025, the Russians tried to reach the rear of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kursk region, using the Urengoy-Pomary-Uzhgorod gas pipeline, but were destroyed. The media showed a photo of the grave of an occupier who died in the hospital due to the consequences of the operation.

What is known about the victims of Operation Pipe

A photo of the grave of Andrei Petrovich Nikiforov has appeared online. He probably participated in Operation Pipe or Stream and died as a result of the consequences.

Andrey Nikiforov. Served in the 30th motorized rifle regiment of the 72nd motorized rifle division. Went through the pipe, but died in the hospital due to the consequences. Did not receive any awards, the publication says.

Let us recall that the occupiers who survived the so-called “Pipe” operation faced serious health problems, in particular lung damage. Preliminary, the cause could have been methane poisoning. Doctors said they did not know how to treat the fighters.
