The Microsoft Word text editor has got an advanced night mode. This was reported on the website of the software developer.
According to the description, in night mode, the active program window will be completely painted in shades of black. In the current version of Word, it is possible to switch the design of the toolbar to dark colors; in the update, the page will also be painted black. “This is a feature that has been requested for a long time by the Word Insiders, and we're delighted to have it,” said Ali Forelli, word processor development leader.
Night mode changes all whites on the page to dark grays or blacks. This will also correct the colors in the document. For example, red, blue and yellow will be slightly muted to match a dark background.
Forelli explained that using a dark theme reduces eye strain for users when they are working in Word in the dark or at night. The new mode will appear in the program in a future update.
Also, a Microsoft representative explained that the user can turn night mode on or off at any time or leave the document page white under any conditions. This option is activated in the Word settings, the button for switching between modes is located on the program toolbar.
Earlier, the medical director of DocDoc.ru, Vladislav Mohamed Ali, said that the bright colors prevailing on the screen of gadgets during their use before bedtime can harm eyesight. In this regard, the specialist recommended that smartphone and computer users switch their devices to night mode.
