“Night at the Museum” at home. Cultural events in online format
On May 15, Moscow will host a citywide cultural event “Night at the Museum”, during which more than 250 free events will be held in online and offline formats. Guests can enjoy musical evenings, exhibitions of theatrical and street art artists, or go on a night tour.
Last year, a new format for holding cultural events – online – was widely mastered. And now the new tradition continues to be partially preserved. The Night of Museums will be no exception – for those who do not want to leave their homes, but still want to experience the beauty, a number of online events are planned. They were prepared by various cultural venues.
For example, at 21:00 the Museum of Cosmonautics will begin a virtual tour of the First exhibition dedicated to Yuri Gagarin. During the cognitive tour, the museum staff will explain why one thing is considered a museum item and the other is not. They will also tell about the most significant exhibits of the exhibition, such as the descent vehicle of the Vostok spacecraft, in which the first cosmonaut was during the flight and landing, as well as a duplicate birth certificate issued to Yuri Gagarin in 1948. After the excursion, at 21:20, an online lecture “Space in Art” will take place. The events will be broadcast on the website of the Museum of Cosmonautics and on its page on the VKontakte social network.
In the gallery “GROUND Solyanka” there will be a festival of author's books and small-circulation literature “GROUND zine fest”. Within its framework, one of the founders of the magazines “Rakurs DI USSR”, “Session” and “Pinakoteka” Irina Tarkhanova will hold an online master class. It will be possible to master the craft of hand-binding books. The beginning is at 19:00.
The “Night at the Museum” campaign was first held online in 2020. Then more than 50 cultural sites of the capital held live broadcasts, which were watched by about 850 thousand people.
